Una buena iniciativa: Social Innovation Camps

Hoy quiero presentar una iniciativa que me parece de lo más interesante: el Social Innovation Camp.

Su objetivo es

“Social Innovation Camp brings together ideas, people and digital tools to build web-based solutions to social problems – from hacking together some software to working out how you’d sustain an idea – all in just 48 hours.”

De esta manera, intenta dar un ‘sentido’ al uso de las herramientas ‘sociales’ -como las redes sociales, wikis, etc.- para transformar el mundo virtual en un “espacio social”. Para eso,

“The Social Innovation Camp is interested in how this phenomenon in the online world can be used to create better solutions to social problems in the real world.”

Ejemplos son:

• GoodGym – be good, get fit
• enabledbydesign – It’s all about people-powered products
• MyPolice – is an online feedback tool that enables the public and the pólice to have a conversation

Uno de los problemas que tienen los fundadores es el siguiente: Las autoridades públicas no son capaces de adaptar sus métodos de trabajo para hacer que estas innovaciones sean útiles.
